The Ultimate Challenger Brand

This video is all about a guy who is a world class game changer. He fits all the criteria of a great challenger brand. His name is Jeb Corliss and his thing is flying without wings. In this video he leaps out of a chopper and flies through a 100ft hole in the side of a mountain in just a wing suit. In a previous film, he flies just 6ft above the ground narrowly missing a cameraman. Bonkers!

Jeb has to be the human equivalent of the ultimate challenger brand. He refuses to accept traditional wisdom that man was not designed to fly, he constantly evolves his product to keep his consumers engaged and is willing to take calculated but significant risks in order to achieve his goals. He really covers all three of the challenger pots very nicely – he has got his brilliant basics sorted with lots of compelling differences and is a massive game changer. Let’s just hope he manages to keep it up!

Gü TV Ad

We made a new TV ad last month which is on air now in France. We had great fun blowing up balloons and shooting them at high speed at 4,000 frames per second.

yes, this was us…

We were pretty chuffed when this post by Dave Trott over at Campaign was pointed out to us. We’ve always been proud of our work with and particularly this (completely true) story of how Perry blew James Averdieck away with his first presentation. Of course, thanks as always to James for singing our praises yet again, and thanks to Dave for mentioning it.

Incredible challenger thinking

This project caught our eye and imagination. It is a fabulous example of challenging the norm which we love to do. A printer that can print itself, revolutionising the manufacture and distribution of a product and challenging the economic models that haven’t changed since the industrial revolution. Hats off!

Big Fish on BBC High St Dreams

You may have seen Perry on the prime time BBC series “High Street Dreams” which was hosted by Jo Malone and Nick Leslau. We were asked by the BBC to brand Beryl’s knitwear business. Our advice was to position it at the premium end of the market and came up with “Knitted by the Nation”. It focussed on the core essence of her brand because Beryl produces high end merino wool fashion accessories, which she has knitted for her by grannies and knitting clubs all around Britain. We setup and ran a fashion shoot in Dorset to showcase her products and packaged the range as if they were over-sized balls of wool. The packaging allowed the items to be merchandised effectively whilst still allowing people to touch and feel the wondefully soft texture of her products.

Here’s a clip from the show which went out in April on BBC One and some photos of the mocked up packaging and supporting literature.
