The team at Traidcraft (co-founders of the Fairtrade Foundation) asked us to give their new, astonishingly fair food and drink company a unique identity. Their promise everything they make opens doors for its growers, helps support entire communities, protects the planet and makes its consumers exceptionally happy. All at once.
However, they didn’t want to sound worthy or serious. Their competitors were doing that already. So we went for a clean, minimalist design where everyone else was using colour. For compostable wrappers and plant-based inks. For witty touches and hidden, defiant phrases that would reward the observant consumer.
